SIA SECURITY GUARD TOP UP

Security Guard top-up qualification is designed for learners who currently hold an SIA licence to work as a security officer. It is an upskilling course and from 1st October 2021, it has become a mandatory requirement. The course covers ways to recognise terrorism as well as minimising personal risk for security officers.

This qualification consists of the following units:

1- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in The Private Security Industry
2- Principles of Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry

DURATION AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Security operatives are likely to make calls to the emergency services or need to communicate clearly to resolve the conflict. It is therefore essential that security operatives can communicate clearly and have a good understanding of the English Language

It is an SIA requirement that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid. This Top Up course includes the mandatory Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification.

All learners must be aged 18 and over

If you already have a valid First Aid Certificate with a validity of a year or more, then there is also the option for you to complete your full Security Officer Top Up course from the comfort of your own home.
